Instead of snatching up market share from apple, they essentially exposed themselves to a whole new demographic (apple customers who typically go to the now extremely backed up apple corporate locations) as bumbling and incompetent with all the new employees they've pulled in (to replace all the experienced ones they fired). This basically put the company perpetually on a back foot. Things were going pretty well until they fired off everyone to "protect the company" from covid after promising everyone a raise.

The metrics for determining bonuses at the management level change constantly and often times you will have to watch your paychecks to ensure they actually pay them out - more. Technicians and apple specialists shouldn't have to do this amount of work for the pay if they can go across the street and be a cashier at walmart making the same or more money. Pay is too low for the roles - if you want to keep good employees you have to be competitive. Technical errors, inconsistent shipping times, and often times sending us parts that are dead right out of the box. Often times you are playing mediator between an upset customer and a bloated inefficient megacompany. Training processes change every few months because most of the people at the corporate level have spent so little time in a store they are completely detatched from the reality on the ground.īeing a middle-man between the customer and apple is endlessly frustrating. You will spend a lot of time submitting service tickets because something broke again. Internal systems are a complete joke - your ticketing system will not work most of the time. If you do happen to get promoted to corporate then you run the risk of your job being cut from the company in less than 6 months when they decide to shuffle the corporate structure around at will. If you are looking for upward mobility then I would recommend not worrying so much about your performance and focus more on pleasing upper management. If you like turning screws, solving problems, or helping people with their devices then there are certainly worse places to do that.
